A few specific fixes for mckeagandco.com

McKeag and Co Solicitors · Newcastle · website rebuild

I rebuild small-business sites in my spare time, from Switzerland, when I can see they are leaving conversions on the table. McKeag and Co Solicitors has the substance of the firm behind it (founded over a hundred years ago by William McKeag, his son Donald Clive McKeag still associated, four LLP members on Companies House OC398140, two recent acquisitions in Brennans and Stephens McDonald and Robson, the 24 hour police station line on 07850 565 543) and a Wix front end that does not tell any of that story. Three findings below, then a working rebuild you can click through.

01

The home page does not name a single solicitor, despite four LLP members and a hundred year line from William McKeag to his son Donald Clive.

What I saw

Open the live home page on mckeagandco.com and the heading is "We will pick up the pieces" with a generic Wix imagery row underneath. No solicitor is named above the fold or below it. The four current designated members at Companies House OC398140 (Philip William Walton, Lisa Rebecca Bowes, Christopher Ward Thomson and Jagraj Singh Sanghera) appear nowhere on the page. Donald Clive McKeag, the founder's son and the living link back to William McKeag a century ago, appears nowhere on the page. For a firm whose competitive position is "we have been on Lansdowne Terrace longer than the people you might switch to," the visible front of the firm is anonymous.

What the rebuild does about it

The rebuild puts named partners with practice areas in the first viewport, runs a William McKeag (founder) to Donald Clive McKeag (still associated) to today (Walton, Bowes, Thomson, Sanghera) lineage block as the spine of the page, and pins the Gosforth address as a real-feeling place rather than a footer line.

02

The 24 hour police station number sits below the fold on mobile, behind the medical negligence and abuse claim panels.

What I saw

The 07850 565 543 line is the most valuable single number on the site for a criminal client at 2am, when a family member has been taken into Etal Lane or Forth Banks. On a Wix-rendered iPhone view that number is two scrolls down, after the medical negligence and abuse claim cards and a Wix testimonial carousel. It is not tappable as a tel: link above the fold and there is no visual signal that the line is staffed by an accredited duty solicitor rather than a call centre.

What the rebuild does about it

The rebuild pins the 07850 number as a sticky utility-bar item with a tel: link on every page, runs a dedicated 24 hour helpline band immediately below the hero, and the criminal department's named solicitors (Judith Curry as head, Gregg Stephens, John Kirkham) appear alongside the number rather than three sections away.

03

Two recent acquisitions, Brennans in July 2022 and Stephens McDonald and Robson in February 2019, are absent from the home page narrative.

What I saw

Both acquisitions are confirmed on the SRA register (Brennans SRA 542642 acquired 4 July 2022, Stephens McDonald & Robson SRA 629167 acquired 1 February 2019), but neither appears anywhere on the home page or in the practice-area copy. The story that the firm has been consolidating regional practices under a hundred year old Gosforth banner is the strongest single trust signal the firm has, and the site does not tell it. A client searching for "Brennans Solicitors Newcastle" lands on a Wix page that does not mention Brennans, and may conclude the firm has closed.

What the rebuild does about it

The rebuild adds a heritage timeline with William McKeag founding the firm, Donald Clive McKeag joining, the Stephens McDonald & Robson merger in February 2019, the Brennans merger in July 2022, and "today" with the four current LLP members. The two SRA numbers are surfaced so an old Brennans or Stephens McDonald & Robson client who searches their previous solicitors finds the right firm and the right entry on the SRA register.

If the proposal lands, reply with two or three 20-minute slots in the next ten days for a video call. I take on three Newcastle builds this quarter, and first confirmed wins the slot. If I do not hear back by 28 May 2026, the proposal site comes down.
